Arizona Transportation Modernization Grant FAQ

How much money has been allocated? Total fund availability is $12 million. There is no minimum proposal range but grant awards cannot exceed $2 million. 

How much can I apply for? Each grantee may apply for up to $2 million in seed funding.

Who can apply? There are three eligible applicant pathways:

1. Public Schools: Public district, magnet, or charter school(s) or system(s) (e.g. superintendent, principal, transportation director, team leads, etc.)

2. Local Government: Elected leader or division or a local government within Arizona (e.g. city, town, county, or tribal government)

3. Organizations: A nonprofit 501(c)(3) or other nonprofit entity, start-up corporation or other business entity that plans on collaborating or partnering with a local government or public school(s) to improve transportation solutions and access for K-12 students.

You may submit a proposal to target your most costly or longest riders, a high-demand campus, a cluster of schools, a system-wide solution, or a cross-system approach. You may propose a single solution or a bundle of options and collaborative proposals are welcomed and encouraged.
